  1. Wonderful - you're BACK and with fantastic eye candy too. I was getting worried about you and wondering if you'd fallen off the planet. Well, you guys 'down under' do everything on your heads, don't you? Ah, just occurred to me - do you refer to us 'up here' as 'up there' or as 'down under'? Hmmmm, the things that worry me on a Sunday morning!

  2. Well, it may have taken you a while to post, but it was well worth the wait! All of your motifs are gorgeous! I wish I could choose a favorite!

  5. What a joy! Liyarra, I am so happy to see a post from you as I missed seeing your beautiful tatting so much!

These motifs are fabbo. I was delighted to see the white snowflake with the red beads - at first glance I was baffled... I thought,"How did she get my snowflake?" Just that split second of confusion - funny how the mind works. Anyway, I was amused to see that you had tatted it as I had. hehehe!

I have to look up that pattern by Wendy D. Love it. I think I MIGHT have tatted it (you see, I have been now tatting long enough to lose track of all my work, and I do not keep everything anymore..) It is a great shape.

Enough words! Great to 'see' you!
    Fox : )

  9. Hi all. Thanks for all the lovely comments. It has been fun.

Fox - it was a blatant attempt at copying your snowflake - sorry. I fell in love with what you had done as soon as I saw it. No original thought on my part there!!! I love your work :)

Jane - yep I am still here - takes us Aussies a while to catch up with all that blood rushing to our heads sometimes.......

Thank you all for your support and kindness to me during this challenge and everything that has been going on in my life.

    I love you all.

  10. I've been trying for three days to send this comment, but Blogger was having an issue which prevented it!

I am SO delighted to see you back - and you have finished the 25 Motif Challenge (will you continue for another round?), although you could enter all your previous tatting and quickly get to 50! (I have always felt that your slideshow is like looking through a kaleidoscope - with many large doilies as well.

It's so nice to see your work again, which is about as close to perfection as it gets! It's fun to see all the different threads, too.

All of these motifs are excellent, but I'm particularly impressed by #21 - Mark Meyers' 'celtic' pattern in lavender and white. Beautiful colors, and worth the effort with Cebelia!

Also, Motif #20 is pne of my favoarite 'star' patterns ever! The Festive Tatting book doesn't quite give Marion T. Leyds the credit she deserves. I don't know why her name is listed in small print on the inside back cover, with no mention of who she is or her tatting history. We owe so much to these designers who also gave us new ways to display our tatting.

I love how you added the red beads, which bring the star to a 'Wow!" status, and the gold beads in the center also add a nice touch. I would never think to add the beads in those areas. In fact, when I tatted this star back in the early '90s, I didn't know how to use two shuttles, so I left out the center rings and put a large crystal pendant in there! But now I'm going to do a new one and add the rings and the beads.

I know you have been through a lot, and it's good to see you 'joining' us again.

  11. Kathy - all credit to Fox on the Festive Tatting snowflake. I shamelessly nicked her wonderful idea. See it here:http://www.tat-ology.com/search?updated-min=2010-01-01T00%3A00%3A00-05%3A00&updated-max=2011-01-01T00%3A00%3A00-05%3A00&max-results=50

But I guess we all take ideas from each other all the time. I think it is heartening when someone wants to do the same thing cos they thought yours was nice!!
